LINDSEY CLAYTON, SPONSORED ATHLETE.
Describe yourself in one sentence.
I’m a high energy, fungal with big dreams!
Where are you from and what lessons did you learn growing up?
I’m originally from New Hampshire! I was a professional dancer growing up so I learned a lot about discipline, respect, and hard work from a young age. I carry those lessons with me to this day!
What are the three things you are most proud of?
My decision to transition from dance to fitness. When I was in professional dance, I always said if I ever found something I was more passionate about, I would do it. I had no plans to start a career in fitness but it happened organically and being able to help people reach their goals and help them understand that working out isn’t about how you look but how you FEEL – that is deeply satisfying. I love what I do.
On that same topic, I’m equally proud of myself for creating my own lane in the fitness space. To me, fitness is not about how you look. It’s about how it makes you feel. Working out and teaching is a constant lesson in gratitude for my body. My ability to run, jump, walk, leap, dance – that’s a gift and it could be taken away at any moment. I’m on a mission to help others understand that having abs or nice legs, that’s all a bi-product of the greater gift health and fitness give us.
I’m really proud of myself for getting out of my own way and becoming a REAL runner! If you had told me 10 years ago that I would be running marathons and coaching other runners to do the same, I would have laughed at you. I love the running community and I feel fortunate that I pushed myself to become a part of it.
Life motto?
Always believe in yourself.
Hip hop or country?
Hip hop all the way.
