ANN RESTAK.

Describe yourself in one sentence.

I am a historian of 17th century Dutch and Italian art, a running coach, and a podcaster who has an optimistic outlook and an insatiable thirst for growth, on and off the track.

What are the three things you are most proud of?

I am most proud of running a five-minute PR of 3:09:39 at the 2018 Boston Marathon, in the worst weather in the race’s 122-year history; co-founding the popular running podcast Chill Track Friday, and medaling in the 2019 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix Women’s Masters Mile.

What have you learned in 2020?

In 2020 I’ve learned to take greater and greater risks in order to follow my heart, that vulnerability is a super-power, and that the most important things in life are connection and love.

Three favorite places?

The track at Riverbank State Park in NYC, the bike path along Joseph Sylvia State Beach on Martha’s Vineyard, and Clerkenwell, London.

Winter or summer running?

Summer, definitely, it’s my best-kept secret 😉
